Ukebaco

Frequently asked questions

Plans and limits

How far does the free plan go?

The Free plan gives you one Ukebaco link and up to 5 files a month. Receiving, sorting into per-client folders, tidy file names, the ledger, Japanese/English upload pages and previews are all included.

The upload page shows "Powered by Ukebaco". No ads are shown.

What happens when I reach the limit?

New submissions are no longer accepted, and the upload page says "Files cannot be accepted right now. Please contact the recipient." As you approach the limit, the dashboard warns you with "N left", which is the moment to consider changing plans. Files already received are not affected.

When does the monthly file count reset?

On the 1st of every month (UTC).

What is the size limit per file?

500 MB on Free, 2 GB on Pro and Team. The dashboard's usage card shows it too, for when a client asks.

What do the paid plans add?

Pro (¥2,200 / month (tax incl.)): 500 files a month, 2 GB per file, unlimited Ukebaco links, sender email verification and receipt emails (optional), PIN and deadline (optional), and no "Powered by" line.

Team (¥5,800 / month (tax incl.), coming soon): 5,000 files a month (fair use), shared drives, custom logo, and notification on receipt (coming soon).

What are the terms of the "50% off for the first 3 months" launch offer?

As a launch offer, anyone who starts Pro before the deadline pays ¥1,100 (tax incl.) a month for the first 3 months. From month 4 the regular price of ¥2,200 / month (tax incl.) applies. We email you before the regular price kicks in. Cancel at any time and nothing further is charged.

I cancelled, but it still says Pro.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Until then you keep Pro, and the screen shows "Scheduled to cancel on <date>". After that the account becomes Free automatically. To undo, use "Manage payment and cancellation".

What happens if a card payment fails?

The account is treated as Free from that moment (limits return to Free values, and links are paused as described under "What happens to my links when I downgrade?"). Stripe retries the payment for a few days; once it succeeds, the plan and the paused links come back automatically. Files already received are not affected.

Update your payment method under "Manage payment and cancellation". Stripe emails a receipt for each payment.

What happens to my links when I downgrade?

Your links remain, but the following are paused automatically.

  • Links that use a PIN, a deadline or email verification (so that they are never left open without their protection; we do not strip the settings and keep the link public)
  • Of the remaining active links, everything except the 1 most recently created (the Free limit)
  • Paused links do not accept submissions, and the distributed URL shows "This link is not available". Trying to resume one prompts you to change plans
  • When you move back up, these links resume automatically (links you paused yourself stay paused). Received files and the ledger stay in your Google Drive
  • Before cancelling, "Plan and billing" shows how many links would be affected. When the change is applied, we also email you the list of paused links

Your data

Where are files stored?

Directly in the folder of your Google Drive that you chose for the link. Ukebaco's servers never store file contents (uploads go from the browser straight to Google Drive).

What does Ukebaco keep on record?

Submission metadata (the fields entered, file names, receipt number, destination) is kept and deleted automatically after 90 days. The ledger lives in a spreadsheet in your Google Drive, so your own records survive after Ukebaco's copy is gone.

Do my files disappear if I cancel or leave?

No. Files and the ledger are in your Google Drive. Only Ukebaco's own records go away.

Which Google permission is used?

Only the permission that covers "files this app created and folders you picked" (drive.file). It cannot read the rest of your Drive.

The upload page

Do my clients need a Google account?

No. They open the link, choose files and send.

Why is my email address shown on the upload page?

To prevent impersonation. So that senders can check who is collecting, the creator's email address is always shown and cannot be hidden. The page also carries a notice not to enter passwords or card numbers, and a link to report abuse.

Can senders edit or delete what they submitted?

No. The confirmation step says so explicitly and asks for consent. If something needs fixing, ask the sender to submit again.

How are senders' email addresses handled?

On links with email verification, the address is used only to send the verification code, to record it in the ledger and, if enabled, to send the receipt email. Senders see this purpose before entering their address. Ukebaco's records are deleted after 90 days.

How should I share the PIN?

Through a channel other than the Ukebaco link URL (phone, chat, and so on). Putting it in the same email defeats the purpose. PINs are 4 to 8 digits.

What happens to a link after its deadline?

It stops accepting submissions at the end of that day, and the upload page says "Submissions have closed". The dashboard shows it as expired; pause or delete it to free up the slot.
